Apple’s “Mac Pro”

As some of you may know, Apple recently filed a trademark for “Mac Pro” in the US. It, oddly, falls into a number of categories.

“computers; computer hardware; computer software; computer peripherals; notebook computers; laptop computers; tablet computers; computer servers; handheld computers; mobile computers; hard drives; audio speakers; speakers for computers; radios; cameras; video cameras; telephones; mobile telephones; personal digital assistants; electronic organizers; electronic notepads; magnetic data carriers; telephones; mobile phones; computer gaming machines; microprocessors; memories boards; monitors; displays; keyboards; computer input devices; computer cables; modems; printers; parts and accessories for all the aforesaid goods.” source

Okay. Let’s take a look at some of that.

“computers; computer hardware;”
Alright, that looks about normal.

“computer software; computer peripherals;”
Hm. A Mac Pro branded line of software. Interesting.

“notebook computers; laptop computers;”
Probably referring to the MacBook Pro.

Now, here comes the fun part.
“tablet computers;”
HA! Undeniable PROOF that they’re gonna release the Mac Tablet (which I think will be called something like the MacBook mini to compliment the Mac mini).

1, 2, skip a few…
“audio speakers; speakers for computers; radios; cameras; video cameras; telephones; mobile telephones; personal digital assistants; electronic organizers; electronic notepads; … telephones; mobile phones; computer gaming machines;”
Okay. So they’re going to bundle speakers with it. They’re also going to make a radio? And the camera/video camera I assume would fall under the category of the iSight.

Telephones. They’re gonna make an iPhone. I just KNOW they will. It’ll be sweet. Very, very, VERY sweet. I would buy one.

PDAs? They’re gonna start making Newtons again! woot. I’d buy one.

And dedicated gaming machines. I know quite a few people who would love those.

Also in there is Printers. I somehow doubt they’d make a printer though. Who knows.

So, I guess in conclusion, um… yeah. Apple’s gonna have some cool stuff in the pipeline.
