3 Things To Do Before You Travel To Africa
Africa is a large continent filled with beautiful natural wonders as well as a wealth of animal life. The cultures and peoples of Africa are rich in history. If you are going to travel to Africa, there are things that you are going to need to do before you can go. Doing those things will make sure that you have a safe, enjoyable trip.
There are illnesses that are common to Africa that you don't typically see in the US. Because of that, there are certain things that you will have to get vaccines and preventative medicines for so that you don't contract them while on your trip. You will also have to show proof that you have had certain other vaccinations. You will have to show proof that you had a polio vaccination, which is one you typically get as a child, but if you don't have a record of it, you may have to have a blood test to show that you've had it or get it again. You will need to get a yellow fever vaccination as well. Check the requirements of each country you are visiting to see if they have other requirements.
You are going to need to come up with your itinerary. If you are planning on visiting several countries, you are going to need to make sure that you build in plenty of time to get from one place to another. So, sit down, figure out various air routes as well as land routes and figure out which routes work best for you. You may find out that there are times that it might be faster for you to take a vehicle from one country to another or from one area to another than it would be to fly because there may not be a flight into that area or the flights are rare.
You will need to check with each country to see if you have to have a visa to enter that particular country. You can start with looking at the US State Department's website, because they have a section on travel to other countries. If you can't find it on that website, you may have to look at the governmental website for the countries you are visiting. Make sure that you do that well ahead of your trip time so that all applications have time to go through.
If you are going to travel to Africa, you need to make sure that you do several things before you go.
